Words cannot describe what an amazing evening we had last night (Xmas eve). We were in Ghent looking for a nice evening meal, walked around the corner and saw the sign for the restaurant on the river side. We walked down the unassuming side street only to see the menu was not in English. Being barely fluent in my native tongue, I was going to give up as they weren’t open yet to come and look at a menu I could understand. BUT! There was a lovely woman who I believe was the owner I could see through the glass door so I decided to knock on. She explained it would be a full lobster dining experience, she brought us in proudly to show the amazingly well decorated restaurant in the cellar and let us know there had been a cancellation for 2! This was quite literally fate…. We raced back to the hotel, changed and returned at 7am to start what was without a doubt the most INCREDIBLE dining experience of our lives. I honestly don’t have the words to describe how incredible every aspect of it was! Me and my gf sat for 3.5 hours engrossed in conversation about life and about the food, just taking it all in. My girlfriend isn’t a big fan on sea food but she is now converted, last night was incredible, amazing and every other word you can think of and more. So much so that we have decided to come back to Ghent In the summer just so we can visit la homard rouge again! To all the staff involved both front and back of house…. THANK YOU!

Can only recommend coming to this wonderful place. Everything about it was great: the ambient is lovely. The service is excellent, fast and friendly. And most important: the food was delicious! We had shared two starters: 1. Fried small Sepia with aioli and burnt lime. & 2. Tapas small schrimp croquettes 5 pieces with garlic mayonaise. And then we each ate the three course lobster menu. We finished with a tasty salted chocolate creme brûlé. I'd love to come back to this place when I visit Gent!

Enthusiastic welcome by a crew member. Great food, good service. You can sit inside or outside near the water. If you're into lobster, the place to be!

An impeccable evening for us. From the moment we were welcomed and seated to when we left, they took excellent care of us. The food was fantastic as we took a menu of baby lobsters and felt stuffed when leaving. All plates had their own flavour combinations and we found each of them refreshing and tasty. Service top, food great and location astonishing. We will be back!
